About Us
Rodeo is strong and growing, and nowhere is rodeo’s heritage stronger than in Texas. Embracing that heritage, the Texas Amateur Rodeo Association (TARA) is a family organization solely dedicated to providing entertainment and educational opportunities which feature rodeo, ranch rodeo and our unique Western culture.

The Texas Amateur Rodeo Association was organized to develop and promote the sport of rodeo among amateurs and families in Texas, and we provide an opportunity for Texas families, especially children, to expand their world to include the sport, fun and challenges of rodeo.

TARA hosts monthly rodeo events, trail rides and instructional clinics throughout the year, and publishes a quarterly newsletter complete with information on rodeo, horse and ranch equipment, supplies and lessons to give rodeo beginners a comprehensive introduction into the exciting world of amateur rodeo. In addition, TARA members receive special discounts from Texas manufacturers, suppliers and retailers in the horse, ranch and rodeo industries.

All skill levels are welcome, and we invite you to attend our next event.

For more information, call TARA at 512.767-3378.
